Travelling Pole Pyg!

One of the things I have missed since I've been away is pole dancing.  I loved going every week to hang out with girls and get a good work out.  Pole is a really fun sport to get in to, especially if you have a short attention span, because you can practice lots of different moves and if you get stuck on one you can move on to another and come back to it.  You can work at your own pace or you can be in competition against your group to see who can achieve the move first.  You can be creative in your routines.  It's also a great work out and really tones your body and you don't realise how strong you get so quickly!

I spent a lot of time on our travels looking for something pole like to have a practise.  but there were surprisingly few suitable lamp posts!  Then finally, on a trek to a waterfall in Ko Lanta, Thailand we found a cave.  It was beautiful, very open with a tree sat on top of it.  It's thin roots dripped over the mouth of the cave and one came through the roof all the way to the ground, creating a pole!  I was delighted!  It wasn't ideal for spins because it was close to large boulders but I got to practise some inverts and realise how unfit I now was!
Assessing the pole!

A Butterfly.
Superman.

I thought I'd post a link to this video, because I think it really shows what pole-dancing is really about: strength, grace, flexibility and creativity.

By the way - you should be 18 to go to this video, only because of the other videos/ads that come up alongside it!
